About Mona Baur

Senior Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance)

I’m a native Bavarian, from Southern Germany and have been living in the UK for more than thirty years, the last sixteen years at Redfield Community in Winslow, Buckinghamshire.  I am deeply connected to communal living, growing food, sustainability, and sharing resources.  I am passionate about ecology and nature connection, wild yoga, swimming and walking.  I believe in place based learning and teaching and run the majority of my classes, workshops and retreats on the grounds and in the woodlands of Redfield.

Yoga Journey & Qualifications

I began practising Yoga after moving to London in my early twenties and have continued to study and practise yoga in the UK for the last thirty-five years.  I practice and teach post-lineage yoga: a contemporary practice  which is non hierarchical, inclusive and community focused.

If certificates are important, I hold the highest standard of certification from Yoga Alliance (Senior Yoga Teacher) as well as the British Wheel Diploma and am a Senior Member of the Teacher Training Faculty at Whitespace Yoga, currently teaching the Philosophy Module at the 200hr Foundational Yoga Teacher Training.

I’ve studied a wide range of Yoga Applications and have further qualifications to teach Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yoga for Backs, Pregnancy Yoga, Women’s Health Yoga Therapy and Ayuryoga.  I’m also an experienced breath work facilitator.

Nature Connection Facilitatior

QUALIFICATION:   MA Movement, Mind & Ecology: Schumacher College.

Initiated by covid restrictions, I am now offering all classes, workshops and retreats outside on the land from late spring until early autumn in order to encourage practitioners to feel at home again amongst nature and not separate from it.  This brings back a state of flow and wellbeing and creates a deep sense of respect and reverence for all living things, so that we may tread more lightly on this finite earth.  I utilize yogic, eco-somatic and shamanic tools  in my workshops and enjoy collaborating with communities.

Recent Events:

· EARTH MEDICINE YOGA RETREAT, July 2023

· WISHING TREE PROJECT—Community based, intentional tree planting.  A time rebel project for intergenerational solidarity.
